We See That Harper Is Still Faking It

A picture says a thousand words. What’s wrong with this picture? We’ll give you a few minutes.
“I think where ever you leave the people out, it’s not an authentic and robust planning process, the U.S. Treasury and the ARP (American Rescue Plan) documents, they say this is supposed to be a genuine, authentic process that engages the public,” Harper Bishop, PUSH Buffalo deputy director of movement building, added.
When asked for comment, a spokesperson for the city said, “The city has had a website set up for public comments for over two months, which has received more that 250 responses.”
We see that Harper is still faking it.
We’ve detailed #PUSHBuffalo executive Harper Bishop, Deputy Director of Movement Destroying in earlier posts. Scroll this page or visit www.pullbuffalo.com to learn more. PUSH Buffalo was supposed to be “a genuine, authentic process (or organization) that engages the” community. As you can see from this photo as we have been saying, in recent years for PUSH Buffalo this hasn’t been the case. In the photo you see Harper pictured with mostly white people, some executives from the organization and all of them are frontin for social justice. PUSH has been leaving people out, many black and brown folk in their planning and organizing work for a long time, which has made them not very robust as this picture shows. A large part of the West Side of the city of Buffalo and even across the city, black and brown people aren’t rocking with this organization. Where is the ‘community’? Why are there mostly white people present and speaking? Where are all the black and Latino people that are supposed to make up a large part of PUSH’s membership? They put on this press event that doesn’t look or sound very powerful to ask for more money, new money coming into Buffalo that if they get it will most likely go into the pockets of PUSH Buffalo executives, their white friends, and hand picked props. See the news story here:
